This large old 'domaine' stands on the edge of the famous wine-growing village of Fleurie, close to all those evocative Beaujolais names such as Moulin à Vent, Chénas and Chiroubles. More than just wine, Beaujolais is a pretty, hilly area of villages, old churches and lovely walks.
The property is the left-hand part, with the charming owners occupying the right-hand side, the two parts being well separated. From the spacious sitting/dining area there are French windows opening onto a lovely rear patio with views across the vineyards to the landmark chapel on the Fleurie hill. Visit the city of Lyon and the renovated old station at Romanèche Thorins (5 minutes) with an impressive wine museum. Also follow the 'route de Beaujolais' through the wine villages to Villefranche, near Lyons. Romanèche Thorins has a 'Touroparc' zoo with 120 animal species and the aquapark with rides, giant toboggans, monorail and 'Place Beaujolais' - a reconstructed Beaujolais village from the 1930s.
